Accessibility statement
Last updated:
We want this site to be usable by anyone, whatever their abilities or the technology they browse with. We take the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as our reference.
What we have done
- The whole site can be navigated by keyboard, and the focused element is always visible, with a high-contrast focus indicator of our own.
- A skip link to the main content sits at the start of every page.
- The markup is semantic: a proper heading hierarchy, lists, tables with row and column headers, and form fields with associated labels.
- Form errors are announced in text, describe the problem and say how to fix it; they never rely on colour alone.
- Decorative images are hidden from screen readers and informative ones carry alternative text.
- Text and background contrast has been verified against the site’s actual colours.
- If you have reduced-motion enabled in your system, animations do not run and content is shown in full from the start.
- The layout adapts to screen size and to increased text size without losing content.
Why there is no accessibility widget
The previous site carried a third-party overlay with accessibility profiles and adjustments. We chose not to reproduce it: such tools do not replace a site that is built accessibly, they interfere with the screen reader a person already uses, and they add weight to the page. The adjustments it offered (text size, contrast, reduced motion) are already provided by the browser and the operating system, and this site honours them.
Known limitations
The photographs of completed work come from the company archive and some share a generic alternative text. We are reviewing them to describe each specific installation.
